DIAS2025 – Special track on DIgital ASsistants in Career Development in Higher Education as part of The International Conference of Innovative Technologies and Learning (ICITL2025), August 5th–7th, 2025, at Oslo Metropolitan University, Oslo, Norway.

The International Conference of Innovative Technologies and Learning (ICITL) is pleased to invite scholars, practitioners, and educators to submit papers for the track:
DIAS – DIgital ASsistants in Career Development in Higher Education
This track explores the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education with a particular focus on career development. We seek contributions that highlight innovative approaches to development, analysis and documentation of individual and collective qualification initiatives, and advancements in administrative processes supported by AI technologies.
Track Overview
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly reshaping higher education, influencing areas such as course design and delivery, student motivation and engagement, and administrative efficiency. This track aims to foster dialogue on the experimental development and application of AI as a tool for career development, as well as its role in creating innovative educational, publishing, and administrative solutions.
We welcome submissions that address the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations arising from the integration of AI into academic and professional ecosystems. Contributions should explore how AI is redefining academic competence profiles, career pathways, educational development work, and collaborative frameworks within and beyond higher education institutions.
Topics of Interest
Submissions are encouraged on, but not limited to, the following themes:
- AI in Professional Development:
- How is AI supporting academic and professional career growth?
- Examples and analysis of qualification programs and activities, as well as the formal application processes.
- The impact of AI on career progression and skill development in academia.
- AI in Course Design and Delivery:
- Innovative uses of AI in curriculum development, pedagogy, and teacher training that matches formal and informal criteria for career advancement.
- The role of AI in identifying qualification needs and enhancing outcomes of teacher qualifications.
- Automating Administrative Duties:
- AI-driven solutions for tasks such as evaluating faculty contributions in relationship to formal advancement criteria.
- Evaluating the impact of automation on institutional efficiency and effectiveness.
- Accessibility and Efficiency in R&D Environments:
- Best practices for leveraging AI to create inclusive and accessible R&D environments for career development.
- How AI is fostering partnerships between academia and industry.
- Emerging models of collaboration and their influence on educational and professional outcomes.
Submission Guidelines
We invite both empirical and theoretical contributions, including case studies, experimental research, and conceptual papers. Submissions should demonstrate rigorous development methodologies where applicable, clearly articulate new experiences and findings, and align with the track’s themes.
Papers must adhere to the conference formatting guidelines and be submitted through the online submission system by the ICITL 2024 full paper deadlines. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings and must be presented in person at the conference.
